Every Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend and NEW for 2016, at Summer Family Camp and Harvest Family Camp, Camp Wood YMCA welcomes families of all ages to camp to play and create memories together. It’s an opportunity for families to get away from their busy schedules and have fun doing classic camp activities like canoeing, tie-dye and archery.
Below, we hope you enjoy Family Camp insights as provided by 7 year-old Cadence Dingman. She has attended every year since she was born! Thanks for sharing with us, Cadence!
Camp Wood YMCA is an amazing place and it’s a place for everyone! I go to Family Camp with my mom, dad, brother, and Mimi every year! I love going to Camp Wood because I get to spend time with my family and we do fun activities.
I have been going to camp for 8 years and so far my favorite things to do at Camp are playing at the lake, sliding down the water slide, riding horses, riding bikes, doing archery, playing ga-ga, making tie dye shirts, and going on night hikes!
I LOVE the food they serve! We get to eat a lot of stuff my mom doesn’t make for us at home, and I get to pick out what I want to eat at the bar!
My little brother is 4 and his favorite part of going to Camp Wood is looking for bugs, lizards, and snakes. One time he caught a giant bull frog! It was bigger than his face! My mom’s favorite part of camp is going on trail rides on the horses. She has been going to Camp Wood since she was a little girl! It’s her favorite place in the world! My daddy likes to climb the climbing tower. He can make it to the very top!!! He also likes taking naps and sliding on the water slide. My Mimi likes getting to know new friends and watching us play. She also likes to take naps at camp!
I hope everyone can come to Camp Wood some day! It is so much fun and there is something for everyone to do!
