OUR CAMPS

A CAMP FOR ALL

While our week-long, overnight camp is the most popular choice, we know that’s not the best option for everyone. This is why we offer day camp, horse camp, leadership camp, and even mini camp (made for your little ones who are not quite ready for a week away from home)! Our desire is to meet your needs and serve campers of all different ages and interests. Camp Wood is not a “one size fits all” model – choose what’s best for you!

OVERNIGHT CAMP

Ages: 7 – 17

Our Overnight Camp allows your camper to experience all Camp Wood has to offer. From check-in Sunday to check-out on Saturday, they will take part in archery, horseback riding, swimming, boating and so much more! Not to mention our opening and closing campfires where cheers and chants abound. We are certain that your camper will have a blast while making new friends and growing in character!

HORSE CAMP

Ages: 8 – 17

Horse Camp will give your equestrian loving child a chance to immerse themselves in all things horse related. Campers will spend their mornings at our hilltop arena and on beautiful prairie trails. Then in the afternoon campers will participate in traditional camp activities. The best of both worlds! This camp is offered as a day-long or overnight experience.

DAY CAMP

Ages 6 – 13

Our Day-Long Camp is perfect for kids wanting to experience all the fun of camp without having to spend the night. Just like overnight campers, day campers will have the opportunity to try all kinds of camp activities like field games, fishing, and boating. Whether your campers comes for one week or the whole summer they will have an amazing experience and make great new friends.  This camp runs Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm with lunch provided!

MINI CAMP

Ages 5 – 7

Mini Camp is designed to meet the needs of our youngest campers, running four-days and three-nights! This shortened camp will ease your child into spending time away from home and make their first camp experience a memorable one. Campers will be part of a smaller cabin group and take part in all our traditional camp activities. It’s the perfect camp for introducing your child to the great outdoors!

LEADERSHIP CAMPs

Ages 14 – 17

At Camp Wood, we believe in growing leaders of the future. Empower your teen to explore their strengths and develop their skills at one of our many leadership camps. These two week programs are designed to prepare campers for leadership roles at Camp Wood and in their school or community. We offer Leaders-in-Training, Volunteer-in-Progress, Discover, and Counselor-in-Training.

Leaders-in-Training (LIT): In this week-long experience, campers will learn basic leadership skills and complete team-building challenges. This camp is designed for 13-14 years old who are looking to start their journey to becoming a Camp Wood YMCA staff member.

Volunteer-in-Progress (VIP): This two-week-long camp aims to teach our campers the importance of serving those around them. A key principle of this leadership program is acts of service. Campers will get the opportunity to help in the kitchen, run our camp store, and even serve the local community!

Discover Camp: Our newest, two-week camp allows our campers to explore camps around the country. Camping is all about community and what better way to discover that community than visiting other camps! Campers aged 15 to 16 years old will get to travel to places with new sights, sounds, and adventures.

Counselor-in-Training (CIT): In this two-week-long program, campers learn what it takes to be a Cabin Leader at Camp Wood. The first week is all about learning necessary skills and the second week is putting those skills to the test. These new Leaders work to grow, engage and develop younger campers alongside our seasoned staff members. Designed for campers 16 yr old and older.

Give your camper a summer to remember!
