Easy Choice And Easy Process

For over 100 years, Camp Wood YMCA has served youth and families from Kansas and beyond through summer residence camp and year-round event hosting. We are proud to be a long-standing member of the Y movement and our programs are guided by a commitment to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We invite you to visit us in the Flint Hills and explore the wonder and beauty of our setting on 864 acres of scenic tallgrass prairie.

Step 1 - Register

Visit our ‘Dates & Rates’ page to get yourself familiar with our tiered pricing structure. Next click the ‘Register Today’ button at the top of the page. You will be redirected to Camp Brain where you can begin the registration process. Sign-in if you are registering a returning camper, otherwise begin with ‘New User Sign-up’.

A non-refundable deposit of $75.00 per week is required with each application to secure a reservation. It applies to the total camp fee. The remainder of your fee is due two weeks prior to your camper’s scheduled session.

Visit our Year-Round Programs page to find out when our next upcoming Open House is scheduled. Our Spring open houses allow campers and parents the opportunity to try out a several program areas, tour the cabins, and meet a few of our leaders. Can’t make it to an open house? That’s okay. Contact us any time and we can schedule a tour at a time that is more convenient for you.

Step 2 - Get Ready

It’s time to start packing. Click Here to get a general packing list of what your camper will need, as well as things they won’t need during their stay at camp. We suggest sending old and worn out clothes and towels because it is likely that they will get muddy or lost throughout the week.

Visit Camp Life to check out a typical daily schedule for a traditional overnight camper. Schedules for mini camps, leadership camps, and day camps are going to include different morning and afternoon activities, however, the example schedule provided will give you a general idea of what your camper has in store for their week.

Next it’s time to start preparing for check-in. Overnight campers will check-in on Sunday from 2:30-4:30pm. It will be at the same time on Wednesday for session two of mini-camp.

Download the Parent Handbook for more information about check-in procedures.

Step 3 - Camp Week

Campers love to receive mail! And we know parents love to know how their campers are doing. Whether it’s through one-way email, social media, or care packages we provide several ways that you can connect with your camper throughout the week.

Email campers at cwcamper@campwood.org  Please be sure to provide your camper’s full name and cabin number/name. Emails are printed at 11:00am daily and given out during lunch.

Care packages can be sent to the address below. Some fun things to include in your care package are water guns, frisbees, disposable cameras, bubbles, goofy sunglasses, or other inexpensive toys and games.

Lastly, follow us on social media to keep up with what camp and your camper are up to throughout the week!

Step 4 - Post Camp

Closing Day Begins at 10 AM on Saturday (or Wednesday for mini-camp session one). Please go to the location where you dropped off your camper and remember to have your Photo ID handy. Cabin leaders will show you were to pick up your camper, their luggage, and medication. You can also check out the lost and found as well as the camp store before you leave.

If your camper isn’t too talkative on the ride home, don’t worry. It’s perfectly normal for them to be worn out and quiet. When they have had time to rest and get cleaned up they’ll be able to tell you all about their exciting week.

Be sure to check your email the afternoon of check-out. We would greatly appreciate it if you take the time to fill out the evaluation form and if you’re ready then you can also go ahead and register for next year.

Lastly, check out our Year-Round Programs. We have family camps, homeschool camps, and weekend/holiday camps scheduled all throughout the year. We’d love for you and your family to experience all that camp has to offer.
